PART TIME JOBS, THE BEST PART-TIME EMPLOYEES
Part time jobs, don't worry for now about finding someone to help you. Many people are looking for part time jobs. You will have time to find some help when you need help. You'll know ahead of time when you will begin servicing your first account, so you don't need a helper right now. You need an office cleaning account lined up. If you pay for just any kind of help wanted ad in your local newspaper you will attract a lot of people who are not really the best potential candidates for helping you to clean offices, unless you use the following phrase in your help wanted ad: "Physical work required". Believe me, that phrase in your ad weeds people out. You will still get plenty of people calling in response to your ad, but the one's who respond will be much better candidates for helping you. Use your local weekly newspaper, They're not very expensive. The one that most people get for free. A help wanted ad in this type of paper cost much less money than running a help wanted ad in your major daily newspaper. I have used them both and running a help wanted ad in this other type of paper will cost you much less money and it will help you find the right people you are looking for. Many people are looking for part time jobs. You want a responsible person who is willing to work. Someone who simply wants to earn extra money from working part-time in the evening hours. Someone like a retired person, homemaker or college student. There is some good cleaning help to be found at your local college because many of these people are just entering the work force and would actually appreciate good part time jobs. You want to find someone who ,for whatever reason, is not working at a full-time job. They make the very best cleaning helper's. Another way to find that hard working responsible person for part time jobs is by simply putting up a help wanted ad on the bulletin board of the local community college. You could also contact a few groups of retired people in your area and get them to recommend someone looking for part time jobs. You could also talk with the local employment office, but specifically request a homemaker, a college student or a retired person who would be suitable for doing this type of part-time physical work. You can find a good cleaning helper without paying for a help wanted ad in the newspaper but the newspaper will get you faster results. If you do pay for a help wanted ad in the paper and you own an answering machine when the ad actually comes out in the paper, you may want to temporally change the outgoing greeting message on your answering machine to give some details about the job. For example, "Hello, you have reached ABC Cleaning Service, If you are calling about the help wanted ad" than you should give some details and mention on your answering machine that, "you must have your own reliable transportation and we prefer someone who does not have a full-time job". This will weed out people even more and cause only very interested prospects to leave their name and phone number on your machine. Also, you won't even have to actually speak with all of those who call and leave their message for you, unless you want to return their call and talk with them. You may already know someone looking for part time jobs who could use some extra income. Ask them if they would help you clean your first account in the evenings, when you get it. Make sure that you are aware of current hourly wages being offered by similar service businesses in your area. Your local Chamber of commerce should have this information available for you. Keep in mind that for part time jobs, companies who pay above average wages are known as "employers of choice" and find it much easier to get and to keep, good part time or full time employees. When you are ready to actually hire someone to help you, here is a valuable insider document that you should have them sign before they start to work for you. On a blank sheet of paper or on a company letterhead of yours, have the following short paragraph and get their signature on it. (YOUR COMPANY NAME HERE) I (printed employees name here) , hereby agree to assume all responsibility for the vehicle I am driving and any bodily harm which may occur while driving to or from accounts being cleaned by (your company name here). SIGNED:______________________________ DATED:______________________________ THE ROUTINE CLEANING When you are just getting started, your cleaning crew, which will consist of you and one or two additional people, should always work as quickly as possible from start to finish. You and your help should always begin working in a circular pattern once you enter the office. Begin the routine cleaning at the entrance area and work in a clock work pattern. Work around the perimeter of the office. Don't hop around all over the office going from this area and that desk, over to another area and another desk. Things will get overlooked and missed that way. Work in a circular pattern, following the perimeter of the office in a clockwork motion. Clean the bathrooms when you get to the bathrooms or at least stick to a plan when you enter the office of who is specifically cleaning what. For example, one person will be dusting and emptying the trash cans while another person will be vacuuming and cleaning the front door. Have a plan of who is cleaning what, before you actually show up to clean the office. The routine cleaning that takes place in every office is pretty much exactly the same thing that gets done in any office. The front page of your service agreement (included in this Kit) describes the details of the cleaning to be done. However, the nightly routine office cleaning, basically always consists of the following simple routine: 1.The trash cans get emptied. (always change the liners if need be) 2. Dust the cleared area's only, of desks, tops of file cabinets and shelves, using a feather duster or a rag. 3. Vacuum the carpet 4. Sweep and mop (if necessary) the uncarpeted floor area's. 5 .Clean the bathrooms and refill the paper products. 6. Clean the front door and sweep off the outside entrance area. One person should wheel around the commercial trash can with large trash bag liners in it and go from desk to desk, emptying the small trash cans and doing the dusting as needed. Another person can go right to work on the other area's to be cleaned. Plan your work, divide up the cleaning tasks and always work in a circular pattern. Again, don't worry about employss's, lots of people are always looking for part time jobs.
